No More Boston Impersonation

03.031 socc04 final 2(R)
I got an email from CCD about my Where are we? Boston? post; they've unveiled a new transit sign for SEPTA stops. While I can't say I particularly like the sign, it's not a direct ripoff of Boston's T which is a step in the right direction.

I guess they're keeping it green to go with the SEPTA 'Go-Green' motif. But it just looks strange.

You can see the CCD's full report on transportation here: [.pdf]. The transit signs are on the last page. You can see all of the documents relating to their State of the City 2009 publication here.

Send in your comments/rants/stories/photos/videos! Rants everything else.

  1. If I'm reading the "Transit Concourse Map" correctly - I'm glad they changed the map a bit. The one that is posted now makes it seem like there's free interchange between 13th street (Blue Line) and City Hall (Blue Line), Juniper (Green Line) and 15th street (Blue line again). While I guess it is 'technically' possible to free interchange between them, who really does that? Maybe some locals in the know, but tourists? Forgetaboutit!! Besides, what ever happened to the map that actually shows all the shapes and spaces of the concourse in a less dramatical way? There's still a bunch of them in the concourse if you look around...
