That would be all well and good if Septa allowed you to use all of the doors on the train. There have been times when they tell me I need to walk forward a couple of doors just to get in. It's fine as long as I can get on the train. If they tell me to walk forward and then pull away while I am, then I could understand being upset. But if you expected courteous service from Septa, you obviously haven't ridden it that much. There are a few exceptions where they actually treat you like a person, but often times, there's always one nasty operator who just adds to the bad day you may have been having.

i have to agree. i drove a bus for three and a half years elsewhere, and one of the main ways that schedules get delayed is a traffic jam of passengers trying to squeeze into an already full bus/train. it holds everyone up. it's public transit for a reason. if it's full, wait for the next one.

This is why there are multiple doors on each car. When everyone tries to cram in the same door, it slows down the train and everyone on it. This is how the infamous stacks are created.

I hate SEPTA as much as the next guy, so I'm sorry to rain on your rant parade. Maintaining a consistent stop-time is one of the keys to avoiding the stack. Passengers need to get themselves educated about this, but SEPTA doesn't do a good job educating anyone about anything.
